Irene taught in the elementary grades for 25 years. Her many years of experience have given her a great deal of expertise in the area of helping parents make their children's education both valuable and fun. Perhaps the best compliment her students ever gave her was when they told her that even though they worked very hard and learned a lot - the thing they remembered most was that they had fun doing it! Irene has done a lot of writing about education for both parents and teachers. Her Suite 101 topic: Making Learning Fun! was devoted to articles for teachers, parents, homeschoolers and substitute teachers. She has designed and written curriculum materials for teachers, and has been published in many of the Education Center publications. She also authored 5 Suite University courses. Irene holds a Masters Degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and English. She has also taken post-graduate courses in Special Education and Mathematics. Irene now works for the a local newspaper, and freelances as well. In the winters, Irene and her husband are avid skiers, spending many days on the ski slopes. In the summers, they love to sail on their 22' sailboat. |
